British-Indian composer Cephas Azariah and acclaimed singer-songwriter Elle Limebear present the second single ‘you’re gonna be okay’ and announce the release of their upcoming nine-track album ‘a liturgy for grief’, due 1 December.

The pair first collaborated on their 2023 EP ‘if I can be honest’, a captivating introduction to their magical pairing that blended Cephas’ signature ambient-electronic production and elegant piano work with Elle’s stunning, emotive vocals. Both artists have continued to shine in their own right: Cephas released his debut album ‘Joy Paradox’ in November 2024, earning support from BBC 6 Music, Wonderland, CLASH Magazine, and GRAMMY-nominated composer Ólafur Arnalds. Beyond his solo work, he has also composed for BBC Radio 3’s Music & Meditation, Channel 4, Puma’s Thierry Henry campaign, Soho House, and numerous independent films.

A storyteller at heart, Elle Limebear brings her commanding yet ethereal voice to songs that accompany listeners through life’s highs and lows while inspiring them to look beyond their present challenges. With over 220 million streams and a Billboard #1 to her name, and widespread support from the likes of BBC, COLORS Studios, The Times and The Guardian, Elle has performed across the globe, selling out headline shows, cementing her reputation as a rising singer-songwriter.

On their new project, the pair delve into their experiences of grief, exploring the tensions between joy and sorrow with the desire to create something that could help others. With a natural focus on their own experiences in this past year, the album serves as an encouragement to lean into the grief and process all the emotions.

Cephas describes his ambitions with the album, he says..

“It is a balm, an ointment for new and old grief. It is not a performative record, instead I hope people can relate and share their stories. The intention is the same - healing. This is vast experience so there isn’t a one size fits all expectation. This is a project that sums up of a core value of mine - we need art that tidies, art that mends and art that repairs.”
