Planet Of Souls team up with London-based vocalist Douglas Dare on their haunting new electronic / alt-pop single ‘Ascension’

Planet Of Souls is the collaborative project of producers Paul Rogers and Tom Barlow, blending cinematic songwriting with electronic textures inspired by the ’90s and ’00s. Though the project is new, both bring significant pedigree: Rogers has collaborated with UNKLE, Sasha, Pete Tong and Gorillaz, earning support from BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM, while Barlow’s productions have featured on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat imprint with support from Carl Cox. Since launch, Planet Of Souls have received coverage from BBC Radio 1, NOTION and DMY, with debut single ‘One’ featured in 'Greys Anatomy' in January 2026 and Netflix’s 'The Survivor', which reached #2 globally last year.

Douglas Dare is a London-based vocalist, songwriter and composer whose work spans art-pop, modern classical and electronic music. Known for his arresting voice and intimate, cinematic songwriting, his music blends melancholic piano-led arrangements with minimal electronic textures. Since his debut album Whelm (2014) on Erased Tapes, Dare has built an international following through critically acclaimed releases including Aforger (2016), Milkteeth (2020) and Omni (2024), earning praise from outlets such as The Guardian, Pitchfork and BBC Radio 6 Music. An acclaimed live performer, he has toured extensively across the UK and Europe, performing at venues including the Barbican and Berlin’s Funkhaus, and sharing stages with artists such as Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds, Perfume Genius, Moses Sumney, Rival Consoles and José González. He has also performed at Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival and David Lynch’s Festival at HOME Manchester. Beyond his solo work, Dare collaborates widely across contemporary music, contributing vocals, songwriting and performance to projects spanning electronic, orchestral and experimental sound. Most recently, he performed alongside the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
