Glaswegian producer Turtle returns to Anjunachill with ‘Crystallized’, a four-track EP that deepens his exploration of electronica and ambient soundscapes.

Turtle, real name Jon Cooper, first emerged from Glasgow’s vibrant late-’90s and early-2000s electronic scene, driven by a fascination with sound rather than formal training. Over the years he has evolved from club-focused dance music into a fluid, cinematic style that has earned him scoring credits on acclaimed documentaries including 'Any One of Us', 'Dear Rider' and 'The Alpinist'.

Following his 2023 Anjunachill debut and the 'Potential EP', Jon now presents a body of work born from free-flowing studio jams, where he sought to “sculpt order out of chaos” using pianos, synths, guitars and granular processing.

The title track, ‘Crystallized', features saxophone from musician and filmmaker Max Franco, while the opening track ‘Receive' pairs Turtle’s textured production with the stunning, ethereal vocals and songwriting flair of Californian singer-songwriter Saro. Known for his collaborations with Flight Facilities, Tinlicker, DVBBS and Akira Kosemura, Saro brings his signature emotive touch to a collection that bridges ambient, experimental and alternative pop spaces.
