New Zealand born, Nottingham-based producer Rolo Green returns to Anjunabeats with a new double A-side, ‘Coming Home / 1984’.
Rolo has had a productive 2020, releasing a series of EPs on Greenstone Recordings and collaborating with Farius on ‘Neon Landing’, which was supported by Above & Beyond on Group Therapy Radio.
A pair of progressive heaters that we've come to expect from Rolo, ‘Coming Home’ is a nod to Rolo’s New Zealand heritage, while ‘1984’ references the classic George Orwell novel.
"When I think about “Coming Home”, I always think of the Northland province of the North Island of New Zealand, a region where most of my family still live today. I have deep ancestral roots to this part of New Zealand and in fact, my ancestry in part belongs to one of the oldest and largest traditional Maori tribes in New Zealand that call Northland home. This is something I am very proud of and have a strong connection to, despite living away in the UK for so many years. For me, there is no better feeling than jumping off the plane, borrowing a mate’s car and driving two and a half hours to be reconnected with family, relatives and the incredible and dramatic landscapes up there that I have such a special connection with." - Rolo Green
We are delighted to have Rolo back on the label for his fifth release with us. ‘Coming Home / 1984’ is out now on Anjunabeats.
