Andrew Bayer and Gabriel & Dresden Choose Each Other’s Top Five Tracks
Last Friday, Grammy-nominated producers Andrew Bayer, Gabriel & Dresden and Sub Teal made their collaborative debut on ‘Other Eye’, a track played extensively by Above & Beyond in recent performances at Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest and more. To celebrate the release, we asked Andrew Bayer and Gabriel & Dresden to select each other’s top five tracks.
Andrew Bayer’s Top Five Gabriel & Dresden Tracks
1. Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix)
Released on Black Hole Recordings in 2012 as part of Andain’s debut album ‘You Once Told Me’, Gabriel & Dresden’s Unplugged Mix of ‘Beautiful Things’ is a cherished rework of the celebrated original track, which has since racked up over 11M Spotify streams to date.
2. Gabriel & Dresden feat. Molly Bancroft - Tracking Treasure Down
‘Tracking Treasure Down’ is a classic in Gabriel & Dresden’s arsenal. Released in 2006 on Armada Music, it quickly shot to #1 on the Billboard Hot Club Charts, and remains a firm favourite amongst fans to this day.
3. Gabriel & Dresden feat. Jan Burton - Dangerous Power
‘Dangerous Power’ quickly became one of the most popular tracks on Gabriel & Dresden’s self-titled debut album. Released in 2006, it features vocals from Jan Burton, who has collaborated with the likes of ilan Bluestone, Super8 & Tab, Giuseppe Ottaviani and more.
4. Annie Lennox - Pavement Cracks (Gabriel & Dresden Club Mix)
Gabriel & Dresden’s high standing has long extended beyond the realm of dance music. In 2003, Annie Lennox, one of the most accomplished vocalists in British history, asked the duo to rework ‘Pavement Cracks’ from her third solo album, ‘Bare’. Across her career to date, Lennox has amassed eight Brit Awards, which includes being named Best British Female Artist a record six times, alongside four GRAMMY Awards and an MTV Video Music Award. For their remix, Gabriel & Dresden reimagined the soothing original from a dancefloor perspective.
5. Jewel - Serve The Ego (Gabriel & Dresden Club Mix)
Singer-songwriter, actress and best-selling author Jewel went from a girl who grew up in Alaska with no running water, to a homeless teenager in San Diego, to an award-winning, multi-platinum Recording Artist. Released in 2001 as part of Jewel’s fourth studio album, ‘This Way’, Gabriel & Dresden’s Club Mix of Jewel’s ‘Serve The Ego’ gives a dynamic twist to the original.

1. Andrew Bayer feat Alison May - Open End Resource
“The ultimate Andrew Bayer vocal song which is such a journey in its own right.” - Gabriel & Dresden
Andrew Bayer and Alison May’s ‘Open End Resource’ was released on Anjunabeats in 2018 as part of Andrew's third studio album, ‘In My Last Life’. An artistic statement and a perfectly considered body of work, ‘In My Last Life’ owes very little to the dancefloor that Andrew is often associated with - instead drawing its inspirations from influences as far and wide as Kate Bush, Atoms For Peace, Aphex Twin and Talk Talk.
2. Above & Beyond pres. OceanLab - Secret (Andrew Bayer Remix)
“Such a timeless mix by Andrew which shows off so much of his musicality and remixing chops.” - Gabriel & Dresden
Above & Beyond’s chart-hitting side project with Justine Suissa, OceanLab, dropped their hotly anticipated debut album ‘Sirens Of The Sea’ in 2008. ‘Sirens Of The Sea Remixed’ arrived the following year, featuring Andrew’s rework of ‘Secret’, which took a major departure from the original track.
3. Andrew Bayer - From The Earth (Breakfast Remix)
“Washington DC’s Breakfast took this already great trance track to soaring new heights. Still rocks a dance floor to this day.” - Gabriel & Dresden
DJ, producer and label-owner Breakfast put his spin on Andrew’s ‘From The Earth’ back in 2011, a track that has since earned support from Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Bart Claessen and beyond.
4. Push - Strange World (Andrew Bayer Remix)
In 2016, Andrew stepped up to remix one of the most iconic trance tracks in history: Push’s ‘Strange World’. Originally released on Bonzai in 2000, Andrew’s modern take on the trance classic showcased a new dimension to his production skills.
