25 Years Of Anjuna Mixed By Bart Claessen

Anjunabeats celebrates its 25th anniversary with a series of mixes curated by a handpicked selection of artists. Drawing on 25 years of defining trance and progressive history, each artist will deliver a personal and unique mix of their all-time favourite Anjunabeats releases.

Now, Bart Claessen will deliver the sixth mix in the series.

“I had such a good time digging through all my vinyl and files, finding my personal favourites, and recalling half lost memories of 25 years of Anjuna. The label I first got to know through early Tranquility Base and OceanLab releases, that later became home to some of my dearest releases. Through my travels, I noticed how the label and its music felt like a home for so many around the world, where every place has its Anjuna fans.

I’m also amazed at how so many tracks in this mix bring back their own memories of very distinct and special moments of playing them in sets. Like ‘Razorfish’ when I first played the legendary Velfarre in Tokyo, ‘Zeppelin’ opening my set on a lovely sunny day at a Dutch outdoor city festival, ‘Superman’ at one of my cherished Creamfield tour gigs in Melbourne, or playing ‘Elf’ years later in my Luminosity producer set and seeing what that still does to people. I remember the views, the atmosphere, the excitement I felt, the sounds, the connection between everyone sharing the same moment.
