Planet Of Souls is a bold new venture from two accomplished British producers, Paul Rogers and Tom Barlow.
Based in Sydney, Planet Of Soul's debut single, ‘Afterlife’, sets the tone for their sonic world, a fusion of electronic sound design, cinematic composition, and live instrumentation. Featuring the vocals of Australian songwriter Lily Papas, the track was created in a moment of spontaneity, during the final hour of a session at Sydney’s renowned 301 Studios, with Lily delivering a flawless vocal in a single take.
Paul Rogers and Tom Barlow formed Planet Of Souls through a shared love of analog synthesisers, film scores, and the golden eras of ‘90s and '00s electronic music. Taking inspiration from Jon Hopkins, Massive Attack, Chemical Brothers, and Zero 7, their music is celestial and immersive, bringing together the worlds of electronic production and emotive storytelling.
While Planet Of Souls is a new name, both producers have deep roots in electronic music. Paul Rogers has collaborated with artists such as UNKLE, Sasha, Pete Tong, and Fink, with remix credits for N.E.R.D & Pharrell, Gorillaz and Underworld. His solo work has landed on labels like Anjunadeep and Crosstown Rebels, with his 2024 Anjuna single ‘Where’s The Music Gone’ with Pete Tong and Cristoph receiving support on BBC Radio 1 and SiriusXM. Tom Barlow, a master of sound design, has worked on a number of movie and TV trailers, while also receiving support from DJs like Carl Cox, Hernan Cattaneo and Pete Tong on his own productions.
